It is difficult to plan trips in advance given the variability of avalanche conditions. Most backcountry trips are organized through meetups.

Telluride Gay Ski Week
February 26th - March 1st, 2020
Some snow resorts are legendary; ones that, year after year, are among the top in mountain sport rankings. Telluride is just such a place! This season, join your Ski Buddies friends for a great trip during Telluride Gay Ski Week!
The former Ol’ West mining town near the southwest corner of Colorado morphed into a ski resort in the early 1970s and has continually grown to be a leading destination. The base is at an impressive 8,700 feet of elevation, and the mountain features 125 trails: beginners (23%), intermediate (36%), and advanced/expert (41%). The hill has a lift-served drop of 3,845 feet and a total vertical drop of 4,425 feet. For moving about the runs there are 2 gondolas and a variety of 16 chairs and lifts, and there is a free gondola that connects the chic historic town to the posh, newer mountain village.
Our trip with be four nights from Wednesday, February 26 until Sunday, March 1. Home base will be a stylish on-mountain home that provides free access to the nearby ski concierge service (safe, warm storage for boots and boards/skis) with ski-in/ski-out and an exceptional spa (hot tubs, swimming pool, hot and cold running chocolate…).
The cost of the trip includes gourmet food and high-quality beverages for: welcome reception and dinner, breakfast buffet every morning, apres every afternoon with themed snacks and signature cocktail, and one additional dinner. And for non-skiers/riders, or if one just wants a day off, we can assist with off-hill excursion ideas and contacts.
Telluride is part of the Epic Pass network. Pass holders with full passes get 7 days of riding with their Epic Pass
Up to 11 people can enjoy this memory-in-the-making trip for $925 per person. Don’t miss out!
Come join us in the bottomless powder and huge vertical that is REVELSTOKE!
With 5,630 vertical feet (and far fewer crowds than Whistler), Revelstoke is the place to rack up your verts. Get those trackers going and get ready to be blown away. With 75 runs, 4 alpine bowls, and numerous gladed tree runs, there’s something for everyone. Fun, fast and long groomers, steep powder filled bowls and hike-to terrain, and a run that is over 9.5 miles long, Revelstoke is hard to beat. With an average annual snow fall of 413 inches (34.4 FEET) the powder is unforgettable. Located in eastern British Columbia, Revelstoke is far enough away to keep the crowds down, and the powder stashes intact. After one run you are likely to get the “Revy grin” that won’t go away any time soon.
Ski Buddies has booked a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house with hot tub. The house is a convenient 5 minute walk to the lifts. There are three bedrooms with king beds (two people per room) and there is a bunk room with two bunks and a queen bed.
Price includes a lasagna dinner with soup, salad, and bread on Saturday. Also included are apre's appetizers and snacks, and continental breakfasts. Sunday’s dinner will be an optional potluck. Monday night will be an optional a la carte meal in town, hopefully at my favorite Indian/German fusion restaurant. (The bratwurst wantons and butter chicken spaetzle are amazing).
Prices are $490/per person for the king beds (two people required). And $435 dollars per person per bed for the bunk room. Transportation will be on your own to Revelstoke and I will try to help coordinate carpooling once the sign up is full.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort is on the Ikon pass, as well as the Mountain Collective. Discounted tickets can also be found through Liftopia.
Please contact Shane Ballweg with any questions
This 'family' oriented event features a snow castle, live music, FIREWORKS, snow sports competitions, and a poker run for all! There is also a “theme" to be announced, dressing according for fun on the hill is encouraged.

Friday-check in and group casual dinner prepared by Paul starting at 4:15pm, till 8ish, likely inside the Nordic Center warming Yurt, followed by poolside BYOB and socializing afterwards.

Dinner is followed by a torch parade and fireworks display. Capping off the night is live music in the bar until midnight.
White Pass management is offering us group discounted Alpine lift passes and Nordic passes, prices to be announced. PLEASE email Paul once signed up and paid with how many passes you want, for what type and what days. I will be staying up there, Thurs. through Sun. The discounted passes will be offered through me, and are offered Fri, Sat, and Sun.
Sunday - Breakfast, then room check out, snow play rest of the day. Lunch is at members discretion.
