It is difficult to plan trips in advance given the variability of avalanche conditions. Most backcountry trips are organized through meetups.
BIG SKY, MONTANA
The Big Sky Resort, situated just outside of Bozeman Montana and close to the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park, offers “the Biggest Skiing in America”. The four mountains of Big Sky offer 5,800 acres of terrain connected by 23 chairlifts, a tram, and 11 surface lifts. No surprise that this resort is consistently recognized in national ski magazines for short or non-existent lines! All levels of skiers can enjoy the 4,350 feet of vertical drop as the difficulty of trails are well balanced; 15% beginner, 25% intermediate, 42% advanced, and 19% expert. Check out the mountain and resort at www.bigskyresort.com
Our accommodations are a lovely ski in/out 4 bedroom & 4 bath condo with a beautiful stone fireplace and large hot tub located within a short walk of the mountain village. You can even ski home for lunch if you want. Trip costs include 4 nights lodging, 3 days skiing, round trip ski shuttle between Bozeman airport and the resort, and most meals (4 breakfasts, 3 dinners, and 3 après ski) - ALL of this for $1,200 per person sharing a double room.
