MT. BACHELOR - Fri-Mon, April 4-7
Mt. Bachelor, outside of Bend, Oregon, boasts over 3,683 acres accessible by lift (1,600 acres groomed daily) and 71 named runs. With a base elevation of 6,300 and a summit chair that reaches to over 9,600 feet, Mt Bachelor quickly lifts you above the trees for some breathtaking views of the high dessert. In addition, the summit chair allows you to ski THROUGH a volcanic caldera! And if that’s not enough, Mt Bachelor has some of the BEST tree skiing in the northwest. So don’t hang up those skis just yet, winter doesn’t end in April. And for Nordic skiers, Bachelor also boasts 50K of groomed and marked trails for your cross country pleasure.
We will be staying at the same beautiful lodge as last year, just outside of Sunriver and a very short drive to the mountain. Sleeping arrangements include: 2 master suites complete with king beds and private baths, one loft room with 2 full size beds (sleeps a total of four people) and one bunk room that sleeps 4 people.
(I am reserving the lodge for 12 people, but if the trip fills we have the option of easily adding another home.)
Prices will include three nights lodging, 2 lift tickets (Saturday and Sunday), and a prepared meal on Saturday night. All other meals and transportation will be the responsibility of the participants. (Because parking is somewhat limited at the lodge we will need to arrange car pools.)
