Methow TrailContinuing the annual tradition! The 2007 Methow Valley cross country trip, over President’s Day weekend, February 16-19, celebrates our 18th year.

Most of us know that the Methow Valley has held the title for several years now as the best of 130km of groomed cross country, touring, freestyle and race-skiing in all of North America. We intend to keep that title!

Westar LodgeFor the past 8 years, our lodging is at the desirable, private and secluded Westar Lodge located next to the isolated Chewuch River and the challenging Rendezvous Trail System. Exclusively ours and equipped with a private hot tub and fully equipped kitchen. There are 3 private bedrooms (which we set aside first for coupled partners if they request it) and/or a mix of 2 or 4 friends, and the rest is comfortable bunk-house style.

Lodging Cost: $110-135 (exact cost to be determined soon) for 3 days and 2 nights, arriving Friday anytime after 12 noon and leaving Monday around noon. Six years ago this trip was offered at $110. Last year it was $125, so this is still one of the best weekend bargains.

Car-pooling and fuel cost: To be determined

Your potluck offering (we’ll decide on the menu later). There is a full service grocery store in town.

WinthropWeekend trail pass: $30 in 2007. They have one and two day passes as well. There are 3 places in Winthrop to get the trail pass and rent equipment for all skill levels and interests. Most of us go to Mountain Valley Sports.

Payment: Spaces for this trip go on sale at the time of the Ski buddies October Potluck. Full payment will be due in December. The first 25 full payments received (payable to Ski Buddies) will be the guaranteed spots.
