MANNING PROVINCIAL PARK, B.C. Dec 13-16
Join Ski Buddies at the club’s “first ever ski trip” to beautiful Manning Provincial Park in southern B.C. Manning is a stunning landscape of mountains, meadows, lakes and forests located at the very northern end of the Cascade Mountain range. There are still a few spaces available! This is primarily a cross country ski and snowshoe trip. You will be amazed by Manning’s extensive trail network; 30 km of groomed trails for classic and Nordic skate skiing, 190 km of backcountry ski touring trails and numerous marked snowshoe trails. There are also 2 warming huts within the trail network.
If conditions allow during mid-December, there is also downhill skiing and riding at Gibson Pass ski area that offers more than 140 acres of ski and snowboard terrain, with 24+ marked trails and 4 ski lifts over a 1,400 foot vertical drop.
We will be staying at the Manning Park Resort which is located in the heart of the park at an elevation of 4,000 ft. Cross country ski trails and snowshoe trails are right outside your door! The resort has an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, two restaurants, a pub, game room and a grocery store. Other amenities include an outdoor ice skating rink, tube hill and sleigh rides. We will carpool to the resort.
Ski Buddies has reserved two tri-plex group chalets that sleep 14 people each in bunk-style accommodations, and two 3-bedroom cabins. Each chalet has a full kitchen so you can prepare your own meals, living room, three bathrooms and two separate bunk-style sleeping rooms. The 3-bedroom cabins have full kitchens, bathrooms, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a bunk room. Bath towels and bed linens are included.
This trip is very reasonably priced, ranging from $160 to $199 per person, which includes all three nights of lodging.
